International Training for Solar Installation and Cable Technique

Controlling and Maintenance

ONE WEEK PV TRAINING PROGRAMME IN MITHRADHAM

Date: October 24th - 28th, 2017, 9am - 5pm

Renewable energy centre Mithradham is the first fully solar educational institution in India dedicated to the promotion of Renewable Energy, especially solar energy in India. Mithradham offers training and awareness programmes in solar energy with international experts for the last ten years.

Mithradham also offers student internship training in renewable energy. The aim of the training programme is to offer hands on training on the core concepts necessary to work with all PV systems, including system components, site analysis, PV module criteria, mounting solutions, safety and commissioning. We train decision makers, technicians, and end-users in order to create sustainable renewable energy projects

The present programme offers a one week training with German experts who have international exposure and expertise in on-grid and off-grid solar P-V. It is tailored to all who have a basic knowledge in electricity and intend to make use of it. Practical installation and study visits to different solar installations are also offered as a part of the programme. Consultancy services of the expert is available by prior appointment during the training programme.

A certificate will be issued at the end of the training programme. The following are the areas of theoretical and practical training:

  • Basics of solar energy
  • Stand alone PV systems: Planning, Designing and Installation
  • Grid connected systems
  • Solar cable technology
  • Maintenance and Surveillance of PV installations

SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAICS - THE ENERGY OF THE FUTURE

Photovoltaics production has been increasing by an average of more than 20 percent each year since 2002, making it the world's fastest-growing energy technology. The sharply reduced cost of solar photovoltaic systems has resulted in a record amount of PV capacity worldwide around 39GW, in 2013.

According to latest IEA report, 59% of the global PV market was in Asia and the Asian market has grown by 170% in 2013. India is one among the top ten countries for new installation capacity. In July 2009, India unveiled a plan to produce 20 GW of solar power by 2020. Under the plan, solar-powered equipment and applications would be mandatory in all govenment buildings including hospitals and hotels. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) will be continuing the off-grid scheme with Rs. 3400 crores alotted for Solar off grid and Rs. 640 crores for small grid interactive systems.

India is expected to adopt a policy of developing solar power as a dominant component of the renewable energy mix since the subcontinent has the ideal combination of both high solar insolation and large customer base. The newly elected central government has floated a plan to make every roof top in India a solar power house by 2019. The country needs 100.000 trained hands in solar energy in the next 10 years. Employment potential is huge in this area.

‘Photovoltaics - the conversion of solar light to electricity is the most important future technology for humanity’
