The climate problem is a challenge of highest obligation to the ethical responsibility of all - to political and economic actors, to public institutions and to private households.

"Protection of the creation" is a theological idea and concept and belongs, at first not on the level of factual questions but on the level of motivation and conviction based on religious-theological reasoning. However, in order to achieve the full result, we ought to take the trouble for serious discussions among ourselves considering the scientific, technical, legal, economical and social questions which are associated with the subjects "climate change" and "climate protection", consumption of resources, resource conservation, energy efficiency and other things. In short, we have to take care of the whole complex structure, which can be summarized under the definition "sustainable action". This is the content of the concrete steps of the interdisciplinary "climate initiative" of the diocese Rottenburg-Stuttgart.
