Currently, Mithradham centre focuses on 3 kinds of projects
Solar drying of organically grown spices and medical plants: Organically grown spices, medicinal plants and fruits from the farmland of Mithradham are processed carefully for drying in the solar dryers installed at Mithradham. The solar tunnel dryer developed at the Hohenheim University, Germany, and the mini dryer developed at the Sacred Heart College, India, are used for drying various products. The dryed products are packed and marketed based on fair trade norms. The centre gives employment for handicapped women and men.
Solar P-V installations - Home lighting systems: Mithradham, together with local government administration undertakes projects for installation of home lighting systems especially for economically backward families without connection to the public electricity supply network. This is helpful for students who has to study under polluting oil lamps. The project engages technical personnel in P-V from the centre
Training of personnels for Mithradham: The personnels for the centre are trained in various related fields at Universities and institutions in Germany. Higher studies in agriculture and animal - Hohenheim University. Higher studies in waste water management and solar thermal - Stuttgart University. Training in Solar Drying - Innotech Ingenieurgesellschaft. Training for solar P-V - Wuerth Solergy, Kopf Solar Design GmbH. Solid waste management - Rottaler Modell.
