We are in a small village in the universe - Global Village.
For millions of years this village provided favourable climate for all of us to live and grow. But the recent unexpected climate changes that are affecting our lives put a very big question before us. Can we survive for long in this village unless something is done immediately to protect the climate?
Environmental scientists wam us of catastrophic consequences if we do not change the way we live in this Global Village and exploit its resources. The fossil fuel resources that our village are endowed with is depleting due to the exorbitant use.
Besides, our own lives are in danger due to pollution to the environment resulting from the use of these resources. The very modern technologies which make this globe a village also pose great threat to this blue-green village.
The social and psychological imbalance this bring in our day to day life is so great although we do not realize them fully today. The far reaching negative consequences of the fossil energy based development are yet to come.
